I was reading recently an article on Business of Fashion about the importance of in-newspaper magazines. It was an interesting article and poses the question, how relevant are physical publications these days? With the likes of Teen Vogue being moved to the same floor as vogue.com at the Conde Nast HQ and a whole team at GQ dedicated to producing online-only content, it’s clear the world is very, very digital.
However, in the fashion industry in particular is all about the physical feel – the quality of the material, the cutting and sticking of images onto mood boards, the circling of favourite looks. The physical magazine is going nowhere, but is it’s place moving to inside our Sunday newspaper?
It’s an interesting read.
